Kullu Travel Guide     

Very close to the capital city and queens of the hill stations Shimla, Kullu is also like a blinking gem in the crown of Himachal Pradesh tourism. Kullu valley is known for its untouched beauty and serene environment that keep one enticed for a long time. With the mighty Himalayas forming as its backdrop, you will feel the Kullu valley like a picture straight out of a fairytale. There are a number of major attractions in and around the valley that is sure to keep you enticed for a long time.

Raghunathji Temple : The temple was built in 17th century by Raja Jagat Singh to atone for his sin of bringing the idol from Ayodhya.

Sultanpur Palace : It is one of the major attractions of Kullu that houses some beautiful miniature paintings done in Kullu style along with simple themes.

Basheshwar Mahadev Temple : It is only a few km from Kullu dedicated to Lord Shiva. The enormous temple has been incorporated pyramidal shape and domiciles a large 'Yoni-Lingam' idol, representing Lord Shiva and His consort Goddess Parvati.

Bijli Mahadev Temple : It is also one of the ancient temples in the surrounding areas of Kullu in Sultanpur. It holds great religious significance and renowned for a 20 m high rod, which serves as a flagstaff.

Jagannathi Devi Temple : Only at a walking distance from the Kullu valley, it is one of the major attractions where one has to hike up the cliff to reach the temple.

Akhara Bazaar : It is one of the main local markets in the Kullu that has a number of shops, selling Kullu caps and woolen apparels such as shawls, pattoos, gudmas, puhlas and namdas or rugs.

Kaisdhar : It is one of the charming picnic spot where you will have to cross a steep hill to reach there.

Shoja : It is one of the beautiful places perched at an altitude of 2692 m above sea level that offers beautiful views of Kullu. The place is known for its snow-capped peaks, valleys, rivers and streams, thick-wooded forests and grassy meadows.

Kasol : It is located on the bank of River Parvati that is an open glade with clean white sand and grass meadows.

In addition to this, there are also a number of other attractions in the Kullu that keep you enticed for a long time and persuade you to come here again and again. Some of the added major attractions in the Kullu valley are Raison, Katrain, Largi, Jagatsukh, Deo Tibba, Manikaran, Tabo Monastery, Sujanpur Fort and the list goes on.
