Nasik Travel Guide     

Nasik, commonly known as Nashik, is one of the holy places in India in the state of Maharashtra. There are a number of attractive and holy places in and around the city. However, Nasik is known in India for its grapes and Bananas. You will find agricultural farms the district of Nasik where grapes and bananas are cropped in a large number. Nasik is also known for Kumbh Mela that is one of the biggest religious fair organized on the bank of pious river Godavari. As far as the attractions of Nasik are concerned, the city and its surrounding area is full of major attractions. Some of the most glorious and holy places in the city are :

Trimbakeshwar Temple Nashik : It is almost 40 km from the railway station in Nasik that is one of the twelve jyotirlingas in India. Devotes from all part of the country come to pay homage to Lord Shiva here.

Panchavati Nashik : It is in the northern part of the city centered on the Godavari River. It has a sacred belief as it is said that Lord Shri Ram and Sita stayed here along with Laxman during exile.

Sita Gupha : It is in the south of tableland that has a mythological story. According to holy books and scholars, it is believed that the Pandavas halted here and this place was used as a cooking place.

Sundarnarayan Temple : The holy temple was developed by Gangadhar Yashwant Chandrachud in 1756.

Modakeshwar Ganesh Temple : It got its name from popular dish of Maharashtra, Modak that is made of coconut and jaggery. The food is believed the favorite food of Lord Ganesha. The temple is famous for the Modkeshwar Ganesh statue.

Ramkund : It is known as the Ganges of the south. The place is known for the holy kund where devotes pay a visit to take a holy dip in this pool.

Kalaram Temple : It was built by Sardar Odhekar of Peshwa in 1790. The holy temple is in the Panchvati area.

Gargoti Museum : It is a worth visiting place in the city that displays Indian zeolites and minerals from across the globe. In addition to this, Anjneri, Dadasaheb Phalke Samarak, Dudhsagar Falls, Ganga Ghat, Jain Mandir, Kalaram Temple, Kapileswara Temple, Muktidham Temple, Naroshankara Temple, Nasik Panchavati, Ramkund, Sita Gufaa, Someshwar Temple, Sundarnarayan Temple, Veda Mandir, etc are some added attractions of this holy place that keep tourists and pilgrimages enticed for a long time.
