Panna Travel Guide     

One of the ancient cities in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Panna is however not a major city or cosmopolitan one. But it is something vibrant those keep travelers mesmerized for a long time and persuade them to come here again and again. Full of meadows dotted with evergreen trees, rocks, hills, forest ranges and a number of other ancient buildings make it an ultimate destination to explore. Here, you will feel as if you are in very old era where people believe in calm and serene environment with a sense of complete honesty.

On the other hand, a number of ancient temples speak volume about the ancient architecture of Hindu and Muslims in a unique way. The small, yet ancient district of Madhya Pradesh has also a historical significant as it is said that Panna forest range were blessed with the mythological Pandavas, the main character of Mahabharata, who stayed here during their exile.

However, the forest range has been converted into the tiger reserve that is considered as the youngest tiger reserve in India established in the year of 1994. In the real way, Panna National park was established from the hunting forests of erstwhile royal kingdoms of Bijawar, Panna and Chhatarpur. In addition to this, the district is also known for diamond mining in a big way.

As far as the major attractions of Panna are concerned, Panna National Park is one of the main attractions here that is also a paradise for wildlife tour enthusiasts. The dense forest range is one of the youngest tiger reserves in India with a number of other species of animals like chinkara, sambar, dear, chital, sloth bear and the list goes on.

In addition to the national park, Raneh falls is also one of the major attractions of the city that is located on the Ken River very close to Panna. The cascading waterfalls that give a scenic surrounded by wonderful rock formation make it an ideal place to spend some more time here. The valley of crystalline granite also makes it a perfect destination for certain purposes.

Pandav Caves and fall is also a must see place in Panna that has been converted into an ideal picnic spot now. Moreover, Ken Gharial Sanctuary is also another wildlife sanctuary in Panna to explore.

Panna is also known for some small, yet ancient architected hotels, lodges, forest bungalows, and resorts. In this way, during your tour to the city, you can also stay here for a day or two.

Reaching Panna is not a tough task, as there are regular busses of Madhya Pradesh state Transportation Corporation and private transport agencies. However, the nearest airport of Panna is Khajuraho.
