ABOUT AHMEDABAD

Ahmadabad, commonly known as Ahmedabad, is fast emerging industrial hub of India in the state of Gujrat. However, it is also known as the first and last gem in the crown of the traditional state Gujrat. This cosmopolitan city that is very close to commercial capital of the country Mumbai has been a major city known for a wide range of industries, educational centers (IIM or Indian Institute of Management, Physical Research Laboratory, Indian Space Research Organization, National Institute of Design and the Academy of HRD) and a number of other attractions.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it was a major textile manufacturing centre up to 19th century. Because of having a vast industry range, it was at that time called the Manchester of India. In fact, the city has also been witnessed a number of other activities as Famous Indian freedom fighter and the Father of the Nation the Great Mahatma Gandhi also belong to the city. Ahmadabad, located on the bank of famous river Sabarmati, has been also a centre of attraction because of having a number of tourist attractions and for the influence of Hindu and Islamic style of architecture.

This one of the biggest cities in the state of Gujrat was founded in the year of 1411 on 26 February by Sultan Ahmed Shah to govern the sultanate of Gujrat. However, during the British Empire, the city was modernized expanded and also incorporated into Bombay Presidency.
